Thoughts While Waiting for a Colonoscopy

Sooner or later, we all have this medical procedure done.

My thoughts

My colonoscopy

  • At least I get to lie down for awhile. I could use a nap. Too bad it takes an invasive medical procedure and an I.V. propofol drip to cop a snooze. Michael Jackson, I feel your pain.

  • The slit in the back of this gown is rather stylish. Perhaps a new fashion trend? Maybe the holes in jeans are in the wrong places.

Healthscare: Making A Money Mountain out of a Mole

Healthcare Fun

Let’s make a money mountain out of an itsy bitsy, teeny weeny mole!

Healthcare: Making A Money Mountain out of a Mole

“Holy Moly!”

News Flash

I notice a new? mole on my neck.

Being hyper vigilant (and vain) I hop online and compare my mole to images of other moles.

(BTW it is disturbing how many pics of moles are posted on the web. Way too much sharing!) […]

Is Your Pet a Party Pooper?

4 Jan

Pets… can’t live with them; can’t live without them.

FYI – I am both a dog person and a cat person.

Dogs will swallow anything (you know what I mean).

However, we expect more from cats. They are the mere embodiment of discernment. They control their unbridled enthusiasm. They appreciate understatement. They are refined.  Above all, they are really fussy eaters.

But, no. On the busiest party night of the year, pussy cat has swallowed something festive and is decking the halls with projectile vomit and decorating the hearth with (use your imagination).

Ho. Ho. Ho. Forget that fancy dinner dance with “A” list celebrities. Forget the overpriced, hand sequined killer outfit you bought for this special occasion. Forget the stardust and forgive the feline. We’re off to see the ER vet! […]

Before you look down your nose on a clown nose…

It’s important to realize that therapeutic humor is a valuable tool to help others.

Think of those who battle cancer and chronic illness, nurse patients with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injury, comfort the dying, care for a parent with Alzheimer’s, cope with the death of a son in a car accident, deal with the legacy of alcoholic parents, struggle with the aftermath of rape, miscarriages, teenage suicide.  ARRGH!   Unfortunately, “Pain and Suffering” is a reality show playing in all of our neighborhoods.

Hard to believe, but I’m told some people stress out over a lost earring (not me!) or a missed plane (never!) or (God forbid!) a lousy internet connection. (Can you hear me? Is this working?)

YOU too can experience the transformative power of humor.

AATH is The Association for Applied & Therapeutic Humor – It is THE home for humor and laughter professionals. Please check them out!

I support AATH – YOU can, too!
