Brain Clutter: Are You Older? Is Your Brain Full?

24 Jan

Are you older than a fifth grader?

Is Your Brain Full?

Are you stuffed? Hat tight? No room for more information?

According to a recent study, “older” people’s brains are full… so that’s why they tend to respond slower than your average recalcitrant fifteen year old.

Can we have too much knowledge?

Too many experiences?

Too many memories?

Is this a form of mental constipation?

Will there be a pill to clear out our memory caches and brain clutter?

* Great article by Emily Thomas in The Huffington Post:

Older People’s Brains May Be Slower, But Only Because They Know So Much, Study Says

Younger people are skeptical… Ya think?

I really hope this theory is true! Anyway, ‘brain full’ sounds so much classier than ‘brain fart.’

I’m going to print that article out so I can hand it to people every time I having one of those rolling blackouts. 🙂

But you’ll have to remember where you put the paper!”Rolling blackout” – very funny!

Ha! I wrote a post about this back in 2012. My Mom said sometimes she forgot things because her brain was full and she had to forget something so she could remember something else.
She wasn’t very old when she started using that excuse.
Interesting post, thanks for pointing us to the article.
